You put Fillmore tickets!! :) You make me smile! Thank you for doing this. It's everything I (would) have on my list and more! I am bringing a travel steamer/iron with me. It's so compact and cute! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for saving me many minutes of thinking and the sadness of forgetting! YAY! What would I do without you??
Hope to see you on the boat!! Just kidding! I can't wait to party the nights away with you!
Wow! It's amazing that all of that fits into a travel bag/suitcase!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this list, it'll help get me ready for the BSB Cruise.
Thank you!
I cannot even think of 62 ways to wear a bra! That's crazy :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the list! Going to compare with my own to make sure nothing is missed!
ReplyDeleteQuick ques though. I have combed through the Carnival site and may have missed this---do they follow the FAA 3-1-1 rule? I am sticking w/the carry-on, but do not have enough room in that 1qt bag. I plan on picking up the rest of my goodies in Mia.
Hi Erika, I'm fairly sure you can bring larger liquids on board in your carry-on on Carnival, unlike at the airport.
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking your time to post these blogs. It has really helped me considering I am a first time cruiser.
ReplyDeleteFYI - I was #2877 and got the call yesterday. Unfortunately we can pull it off :( Sp they are onto atleast #2878.
ReplyDeleteMaybe a towel for your excursion in the Bahamas? I know for the pool, they provide towels, but are we supposed to bring them off the ship when you hit the beach in the Bahamas?
ReplyDeleteOMG! I just got completely overwhelmed!
ReplyDeleteBut I'm so grateful for your blog. Things I wouldn't have ever thought of...nightlight? Power strip? Coordinating w/my roomies now to make sure only one of us packs those things...I'm sure we don't need four! You are a God-send! Thank you so much! I hope to meet you on the boat!!!
Ok so you must blog about the 62 ways to wear a bra! WE HAVE TO KNOW!
ReplyDeleteAnon - they do have big, thick beach towels in your room. You can take it wherever you want as long as you return it to the room. If you don't, they'll charge you for it after you disembark. The beach towels were great; don't waste room in your suitcase packing them.
ReplyDeleteOooh thanks for the towel tip... I wasn't so sure about that and was going to pack my big a$$ beach blanket. Now I have more room in the suitcase!
ReplyDeleteI have a question, when we get on the boat we can't go right to our rooms correct? So what do we do with out big suitcase?.. Or they bring it to your room for you?
ReplyDeleteThanks Katie for posting this, i did my list as well this week and started slowly gathering my things. It helps as i'm doing the BSB cruise as well in december. I really appreciate all the work you put into this and helping us first time crusiers. Hope to meet you on board, I'm so looking forward to it! Thanks
ReplyDeleteWe didn't smuggle any alcohol on board last year, so we weren't sure what the actual rules were. I was reading the Carnival site and it sounds like if they take it away from you they don't actually dispose of it. It says they give it back to you on the final night! So even if my bottle of vodka gets taken away, we can drink it all on the last night :)
ReplyDeleteI also bring a bottle of liquid soap with me when I travel. Takes up more room, but I can't stand using bar soap in hotels, so I will be contributing that to my room on the ship!
Thanks for all the packing ideas!
What a great list!!! Katie I really hope we get the opportunity to meet on the cruise! You have given me (as a first time cruiser) so much to look forward to! Please add floss to the list...as your friendly cruisin dental hygienist you can't go with out for that many days (LOL)!! I also bring my own BBW foaming handsoap with me cuz bar soap makes me feel scummy. I have a pretty good idea as far as smugglin alcohol...I will let you guys know if it works when we get back...LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the helpful advice on what to pack for the upcoming cruise! Great blog, Katie!
ReplyDeleteHere's one thing to add to the list, though: your Mac Pac card (if you own one)! You never know if it may come in handy while aboard the ship. ;-) .....
Can't wait for the upcoming cruise! Hope it is an unforgettable experience for everyone!
Thank you so much for posting this packing list! I live by lists and I don't have to make my own now. =)
ReplyDeleteI found out about you last year when I was reading all your awesome tweets from the boat. Even though I was not able to go, I felt like I was there, completely thanks to you! Everything you do is so appreciated!!!
So, are shaving razor's ok for carry-ons? I often think about bringing a carry-on instead of luggage on short trips, but I always worry that they would make an issue of my shaving razor. Then, I think about the liquids and just tell myself to forget it and check my bag, but maybe I should carry on. Thoughts? Also... FYI for anyone who still needs/wants to purchase a travel alarm clock, I went to Wal-Mart today and they had a boat load of them (not in the electronics section, but by housewares, where they sell wall clocks, for some reason). Anyway, they are cheap and small! Perfect for the cruise. The one I bought was $5.77.
ReplyDeleteyour luggage gets delivered to your room at staggered times once you are on the boat. You can get into your room upon arriving but the luggage will catch up to you soon after. It helps to take whatever you wish to change into with you in a carry on.
ReplyDeleteyou can also take a "reasonable amount of alcohol" ie a bottle. If you drink it in the dining room they add a corkage fee. If you drink it is your room you are good to go. You can also bring a "reasonable amount of non-alcoholic beverages" ie a couple of cans of pop per person.
